Lloydminster Public School, built in 1925, was long the pride of
Lloydminster.
Later, metal tubular fire escapes were added to the south and north
exteriors.
Many yarns were told about escapades involving the fire escapes.
Later, the building was known as Meridian School and later served a
number of purposes
including classes of Lakeland College before the Lloydminster Campus was
built.
The structure was demolished to make way for the new City Hall but some
of its bricks were preserved
and used on the east entrance in a fashion suggesting the design of the
origiinal school.
