Prior to moving to Lloydminster, Olinda Tindall took a University of
Saskatchewan class in Art History at the Kendardine Art Camp at Emma Lake.
She joined the Lloydminster Art Club in 1948 when Lindsay Evans was the
instructor. In 1949, bi-monthly instruction was provided from the
University of Alberta. The first instructor was Professor Altenburg,
followed by Professor Wholfarth. Olinda has also taken courses from Gisela
Felsburg and Paul Braid from the same university. All of the above mentioned
instruction was made possible through the Department of Extension from the
University of Alberta.
Olinda, wife of Marshall Tindall and mother of two girls, was kept buys raising
her family, but was very involved in the community. Olinda has been a keen
promoter of all cultural events in the city. A humble person, Olinda will
not divulge all the boards and committees she has served on and Olinda is still
very active with artists and the Barr Colony Heritage Culture Center.
