KRISY MYERS

In 1990, Cheryl Myers and her daughter Krisy organized the Lloydminster Speed Skating Club.  After five years of early mornings at the Russ Robertson Arena and Civic Centre Arena and more chilly nights at Bud Miller Lake, Krisy chose to move to Calgary to train at the Olympic Oval.  It was a tough decision to make in her final year at the Lloydminster Comprehensive High School, but an important one for her career.

Training at the world class facility in Calgary has improved her results greatly.  Krisy is a long time member of the Alberta Provincial Team and holds records in the 500m and 1000m races. She is a member of the Canadian Junior National Team and placed in the top 20 at the 1997 World Junior Championships.  Recently at the Canadian Olympic Trials Krisy finished in 8th place with the top four going to the 0lympics.  Krisy was also named Lloydminster Female Athlete oft he Year in 1995.

Krisy is now studying Kinesiology at Mount Royal College, working towards Medical School.

Krisy Meyers is 19 years old and her hometown is Lloydminster.
