Dwayne was born in Lloydminster,
June 8, 1968. He attended school in Lloydminster and following graduation
studied at Grant McEwen College for two years.
Dwayne’s swimming career began at six years of age in the outside pool here in
Lloydminster. This facility was home to all his subsequent training.
Dwayne joined the Aquanaut Swim Club at eight years of age. Highlights of
Dwayne’s aquatics career include: three gold medals in ‘Provincials’ at
the Kinsman Aquatic Centre in Edmonton in August, 1983; ‘Gold’ in 100 Meter
Freestyle; and the Aggregate Award for the 13 to 14 age group. Dwayne is
currently employed in Edmonton.
Terry Lorenz was born in Lloydminster on March 10, 1974 where he attended
school. Following graduation, he attended the University of Notre Dame, in
Southbend, Indiana, for four years and is presently employed in Calgary,
Alberta.
Terry began swimming at the age of four and joined the Aquanaut Swim Club when
he was six. Highlights of Terry’s swimming career include: two gold medals in
the Provincial Swim Meet at the Commonwealth Pool in Edmonton in August, 1982;
first in the 25 meter Backstroke; first in 100 meter Individual Medley; and the
‘8 and under Aggregate’ award for this age group.
All Terry’s training was done in the outdoor pool in Lloydminster, which was
the only facility available at the time.
