In demand as a speaker and lecturer, Maxine Hancock has spoken widely
throughout Canada and internationally in the United States, Australia and New
Zealand. She is the author of seven books of practical theology and applied
apologetics. She is the recipient of the Leslie K. Tarr Award, given in
recognition of outstanding contribution to the field of Christian writing.
While raising their four children on the family farm south of Dewberry,
Maxine and her husband Cam, taught high school English. With her family grown,
Maxine returned to study, earning an M.A. and Ph. D. in English literature from
the University of Alberta where her graduate work was honored with the Governor
General's Gold Medal in 1992. Maxine is currently the Associate Professor of
Interdisciplinary Studies and Spiritual Theology at Regent College, an
international graduate school of Christian studies affiliated with the
University of Vancouver, British Columbia.
This winter, Maxine, who has been seen frequently on Vision Television network,
will host a program entitled “Hancock and Company”, a mini-series
of six weekly conversations with people who she explains have "forced me to
think".
The
Hancocks spend their winters in Vancouver and their summers at their grain farm
near Marwayne.
