HEATHER CAMPBELL

Heather's athletic career began in Lashburn with softball. Over the years she played on many prairie ball fields throughout Lashburn, Lloydminster, and area.

She was a highly successful third base player on several high level teams. Heather was a member of the Canadian Silver medalists Lashburn Junior Bluebirds in 1976 and was named All-Star Junior third baseman in 1974and again in 1976.

After her Junior career with Lashburn Bluebirds, Heather joined the Saskatoon Harmony Center Senior A Ladies Softball team that captured the 1978 Canadian Championship. This led to the Puerto Rico Pan Am Games in 1979. While training in the U. S. Heather was named Memorial Day All Star third baseman. This involvement with Harmony Center Canadian Championship team and Pan Am Games National team culminated with her induction into Saskatoon's Hall of Fame in 1991.

Heather returned to the Lashbum Senior A Bluebirds from 1980 to 1987 and again won Silver at Nationals in 1982. During the 80's she also played Ladies' Senior A hockey with the Saskies from the Maidstone/Lashburn area. They won several Provincial titles placing third at Nationals in 1987. In 1983 Heather was chosen as Lloydminster's Kinsmen Sportswoman of the year.

Today Heather continues to be involved in squash, coaching, golf, and officiating basketball. She completed her Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan while pursuing her athletic career and currently owns farmland and operates the family grain farm at Lashburn.
